Got a Tip?

Marvel’s Phase 6 Will Build To ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ [Comic-Con]

While Marvel Studios laid out their Phase 5 slate, they were ambitious enough to go even further. Kevin Feige took the stage at Comic-Con to announce the first three titles of Phase 6, including the much-anticipated ‘Fantastic Four‘ movie and two brand new ‘Avengers’ films: ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty‘ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ Marvel also announced the name for this phase: the Multiverse Saga, confirming many fans’ suspicious that the multiverse was their current endgame all along.

Marvel’s Kevin Feige announced during their Comic-Con panel that “Fantastic Four” will be the first entry into Phase 6 with a release date of November 8, 2024. Not announced was a director replacement for Jon Watts, who had to bail to focus on other things like the Disney+ series “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.”

The other two newly announced films scream crossover events. They include Jonathan Majors‘ big bad dominating our heroes in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” when it hits theaters on May 2, 2025, the often teased “Avengers: Secret Wars” which is set for November 7, 2025. You can already bet that Charlize Theron‘s Clea will factor into a lot of these films and one of these big events might be how they may introduce the “X-Men.”

Later in the weekend, Marvel followed up with additional release dates – but not titles – for their Phase 6 releases… and perhaps beyond. New Marvel movies are now expected to hit theaters on February 14 and July 25 in 2025, as well as February 13, May 1, and July 24 of 2026. This effectively gives Marvel a full calendar for the next three years, with more details to come over the next months.

Of course, “Secret Wars” has long been a project long desired by The Russo Brothers but they weren’t named just yet. It’s based on a large crossover event that sees multiple superhero teams and villains coming together, it is expected to make the third act of “Avengers: Endgame” look like a tea party.

And while these three titles give fans a lot to look forward to, the timeline shared by Feige included a lot of room for new titles between fall 2024 and summer 2025. What other new characters, sequels, or spinoffs will make their way into the Phase 6 calendar? Fingers crossed that we get more updates when Disney+ Day comes back around.
