Marvel Producer Is Dying To Do A ‘Ghost Rider’ TV Series

Remember the time when Marvel was developing a ton of different TV series, with the plan to release a new one every few months? Things have obviously changed since then, as there are fewer and fewer TV shows in development. But that isn’t stopping one of Marvel’s TV producers from fantasizing about what might happen.

In a new interview with Collider, Marvel TV’s Brad Winderbaum was asked what his dream project would be on the small screen. Without hesitation, the producer listed a fan-favorite character.

“I would wanna do the Danny Ketch era of Ghost Rider,” said Winderbaum. “I think there are a lot of people who would be here for some Ghost Rider.”

He’s not wrong. Ghost Rider is one of the most recognizable superheroes in all of comic book lore. People love the look of the character, with his flaming skull and cool ride. Hell, there have always been rumors about a possible “Ghost Rider” film being thrown around, with names like Ryan Gosling being mentioned as possible leads. Alas, that hasn’t come to pass, and there doesn’t seem to be a Ghost Rider project in the works.

What’s most interesting about the statement is the “era” that he is choosing for Ghost Rider. Most people think about Johnny Blaze and his flaming motorcycle as the most popular era of the character. Ketch is very similar to Blaze, but actually was only created in the ‘90s. He still had a cool motorcycle though.

We have seen various iterations of Ghost Rider in feature films and TV. Who can forget Nicolas Cage’s Johnny Blaze in the two ‘Ghost Rider’ films. Then you had “Agents of SHIELD” attempt to do Ghost Rider, but the folks involved used Robbie Reyes as the character instead of Blaze or Ketch.

Does this mean we’ll see Ghost Rider anytime soon? Not necessarily, but Winderbaum is definitely not wrong about people wanting to see the character show up eventually. Perhaps in the highly rumored “Midnight Sons” film? We’ll have to wait and see.
