Matthew McConaughey Uses His Soothing Voice To Tell You A Bedtime Story Thanks To A Mindfulness App

Thanksgiving is a US tradition that includes overeating, watching football, ignoring American history, and inevitably fighting over politics with your asshole uncle. You know the one. But just in time to enter one of the most stressful family gatherings all year, Matthew McConaughey is here to make sure you relax and sleep well.

The Academy Award-winning actor has teamed with the app Calm to narrate a new “Sleep Story.” The soft, soothing voice from “Interstellar” and “Dallas Buyers Club” is here to help you fall asleep as he reads a special 35-minute story designed to help you relax and fall asleep better.

The story is called “Wonder” and is written by Chris Advasun. “Wonder” follows a grandfather as he explains the magic of life and the entire universe to his granddaughter. If that doesn’t have Matthew McConaughey written all over it, we don’t know what does.

To give you a little taste of what you can expect, Calm released a trailer for the story, which features the actor doing his best ASMR voice that is sure to make you forget all about those family arguments and how bad you want to punch your uncle in the face. I mean, he has it coming, right? It’s all his fault. But I digress.

If you’re interested in listening to the entire story, you can subscribe to Calm via the app that is on iOS and Android. There are over 120 stories, including McConaughey’s. There are even some recordings of Bob Ross, which is probably worth the subscription fee itself.

Here’s the synopsis for the “Sleep Story”:

Drift off to the soothing sound of Oscar-winning actor, producer, writer and director, Matthew McConaughey, reading Wonder — a new Sleep Story in which a grandfather explains the magic of the universe and of life itself to his granddaughter.
