THR reports that “Meet The Parents 4” is a go over at Universal, and the franchise’s two central actors Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro will return for the sequel. The same goes for franchise mainstays Owen Wilson and Teri Polo, who also star in the three prior movies. So far, the only new name on the call sheet is Ariana Grande.

Right now, the sequel’s plot will follow the son of Stiller’s male nurse Greg Focker, whose fiancée, played by Grande, is a ball-busting woman causing all sorts of problems for the Focker clan. For those who don’t remember, DeNiro plays Greg’s grumpy father-in-law Jack in the series, with Polo as Greg’s wife Pam, and Wilson as Polo’s ex-fiance Kevin, beloved by Jack. The original “Meet The Parents” was a smash hit back in 2000. 2004’s “Meet The Fockers” saw Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand star as Greg’s parents, with kids added in 2010’s “Little Fockers.”
Jon Hamburg, who co-wrote all three “Meet The Parents” films, returns to write the screenplay for “4,” and also directs. Universal has the film slated for a November 25, 2026 theatrical release, with Paramount co-producing and handling the film’s international distribution.
Jane Rosenthal and De Niro produce via Tribeca Productions, along with Jay Roach via Delirious Productions, and Stiller and John Lesher via Red Hour Films. Hamburg also produces via Particular Pictures.
Wilson’s recent work has been more in TV than movies, with roles in Apple TV+‘s “Stick” and “Loki” Season 2 over at Disney+. He adds “Meet The Parents 4” to his 2026 schedule that also includes the comedy “Rolling Loud.” Also upcoming for Wilson: the action thriller “Runners,” filming now.
