It’s been more than a decade since Chris Rock last directed a feature. That was 2014’s “Top Five.” But it appears the comedian-turned-actor-turned-filmmaker is ready to get behind the camera again, this time for a new film titled “Misty Green.”
According to Variety, Chris Rock is set to direct and star in “Misty Green,” a film that he also wrote. The film tells the story of a talented actress, Misty Green, who has let her vices derail her career. She then finds an opportunity to revitalize her career thanks to a part in a project she is perfect for. In the film, Rock plays the director of the new project offered to Misty.
As mentioned, this isn’t the first time that Rock has directed a film. His first directorial outingis the comedy film, “Head of State,” back in 2003. After that, he directed 2007’s “I Think I Love My Wife.” And his most recent is the aforementioned “Top Five.” Rock also recently signed on to direct an English-language remake of the award-winning Danish film, “Another Round.”

On the acting side of things, Rock most recently appeared in the acclaimed drama, “Rustin.” He also has shown up in projects such as “Fargo,” “Amsterdam,” “Spiral,” and “Dolemite is My Name.”
Sadly, what people might remember him most for, in recent years, is how he was slapped by Will Smith when he appeared on the Academy Awards and made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.
