15. “The Old Guard 2”
Netflix found a pretty good action hit with “The Old Guard” in 2020 with Charlize Theron, Matthias Schoenaerts, and more as a covert team of immortal mercenaries who must fight to keep their identity a secret while on a revenge mission. Victoria Mahoney takes over directing duties with Theron, KiKi Layne, and Chiwetel Ejiofor returning and newcomers Uma Thurman and Henry Golding joining.

14. “Carry On”
Filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra really loves his action thrillers set on trains and airplanes and he’s basically made another one for Netflix. This one centers on a Christmas Day flight, and a young TSA agent blackmailed into letting a dangerous package slip through security and onto the plane. Written by Michael Green (“Logan,” “Bladerunner 2049”), Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman star alongside Logan Marshall-Green, Sofia Carson, and Danielle Deadwyler.

13.” Borderlands”
A sci-fi action comedy video game adaptation directed by Eli Roth (“Hostel”) and written by Craig Maizan (“The Last Of Us”); the cast is fantastic: Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Ariana Greenblatt, Jamie Lee Curtis, Edgar Ramirez, Haley Bennett, Florian Munteanu. The problem? No other major movie of 2024 has been plagued with rumors about its production problems, and “Deadpool” filmmaker Tim Miller was hired to direct all the reshoots because Roth was “busy.”

12. “Kraven The Hunter”
“Spider-Man” villain Kraven the Hunter gets his own origin story. Directed by J. C. Chandor (“Triple Frontier,” “A Most Violent Year”), the film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the title role alongside Ariana DeBose, Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbott and Alessandro Nivola.

11. “Bad Boys 4”
“Bad Boys For Life” filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (known for “Ms. Marvel” and “Batgirl”) return for the 4th installment, as well as its stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The problem remains: will this release date stick? Production only got half-finished before they were shut down by the strikes.
