'National Anthem' Trailer: Charlie Plummer Stars In Film About Queer Rodeo Performers

As seen in the trailer, “National Anthem” follows the story of a young man who finds himself in a community of queer rodeo performers. While he goes on his own sort of coming-of-age story, developing feelings for one of the other works and taking on the rodeo, he also becomes part of a larger, found family. Needless to say, people expecting to watch a film about rodeos and cowboys are going to be opening their eyes to something they probably weren’t expecting, and that’s amazing.

The film stars Charlie Plummer, Eve Lindley, and Mason Alexander Park. “National Anthem” is directed by Luke Gilford, making his feature directorial debut. Previously, Gilford was known for his music video work.

“National Anthem” arrives in theaters on July 12. You can watch the trailer below.
