Nestor Carbonell Set To Return As The Mayor Of Gotham In 'The Dark Knight Rises'

Get out your eyeliner, because the man with the darkest lashes in the business is getting ready to make a return to Gotham City.

Variety reports that Nestor Carbonell (who you might also remember as Richard Alpert from “Lost“) is in negotiations to reprise his role as the Mayor in Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming “The Dark Knight Rises.” No word yet on how beefed up or not his role will be, or if it’s simply for the sake of continuity, but basically, any opportunity to step into one of the biggest films of next year with one of the most acclaimed big budget filmmakers going is a chance any actor will take no matter how long they’re gonna be on screen.

Carbonell will join Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Diego Klattenhoff and Burn Gorman with the final confirmations likely to come through on Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard before cameras roll. The film hits on July 20, 2012.
