“Good Night Oppy” is directed by documentary filmmaker Ryan White. White’s recent work includes the Netflix series “The Keepers,” which focuses on the unsolved murder of a nun in the late ’60s. Released to critical acclaim, the series speculates as to whether Catherine Cesnik was murdered because of her suspicions that a priest was sexually abusing high school children. White’s other work includes “The Case Against 8,” co-directed with Ben Cotner, a documentary regarding California’s Proposition 8, a bill meant to ban same-sex marriages in the state. While White has taken audiences through the webbings of true crime and the political sphere, “Good Night Oppy” will be his first venture into space.
“Good Night Oppy” will be released in theaters on November 4 via Amblin Entertainment and globally on Amazon Prime Video on November 23.
