So, is it a passing of the torch type thing? Can the "Die Hard" series live on without John McClane (Bruce Willis), the resilient but aging NYPD officer who just can't seem to retire and is a uber-magnet for trouble? EW's got our first official real look at "A Good Day To Die Hard," aka "Die Hard 5" starring Willis and some guy who plays his son. Okay, it's "Spartacus' star Jai Courtney in the role of McClane's all-grown-up kid, Jack McClane.
In case you're still playing catchup, the story this time around will find McClane & Son (which should have been the title of the movie) overseas, dealing with the baddies in the former USSR. “That’s the thing about the 'Die Hard' franchise, John’s always a fish out of water,” Courtney told the magazine. “What could be further out of water for him than Russia?” Making things even more complicated, father and son don’t necessarily get along. “The relationship isn’t always functional. These are two guys who have been estranged for some time. John likes to wing it, see what happens. Jack’s more of a strategist.”
A brand new trailer will likely be popping up this week in front of "Taken 2," another movie with an aging lead dishing out Euro justice. Co-starring Sebastian Koch, Cole Hauser, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anne Vyalitsyna and Julia Snigir, "Die Hard Harder Hardest" opens on Valentine's Day. Aww.
