New Images And Posters For Guillermo Del Toro's Gothic Horror 'Crimson Peak'

Crimson PeakGuillermo del Toro has declared to EW that his upcoming "Crimson Peak" is not a haunted house movie, that instead, the gorgeous and creepy building "is a rotting representation of the family that has inhabited it…the house basically is a sinister, sinister trap." And it’s also the setting of a marriage that soon turns into something far from picture perfect.

“[Usually] the marriage is sort of the climax or the high point of a story,” del Toro explained. “I tried on ‘Crimson’ to say that the horror starts after the marriage. This girl wakes up in a strange place, not her own home, not her own bed, and she little by little realizes that she knows less about the man she married than one would expect. The curious thing is the love story really starts when they acknowledge that darkness.”

But it’s a beautiful darkness, populated by Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, and Jessica Chastain who take the lead roles, and these new one sheets (via Collider, HitFix, and ComingSoon) and images show that for all the thrills to come, the packaging will be impeccable.

"Crimson Peak" arrives on October 16th.
