Martin Scorsese returns to theaters in just over three weeks with his latest feature, “Killers Of The Flower Moon.” And as with any Scorsese film, there’s a lot of buzz about his new pic. The adaptation of David Grann‘s 2017 book of the same name may be the most anticipated movie for the rest of the year next to “Poor Things.”

But “Flower Moon” isn’t just a straight adaptation of Grann’s book, which documents the Osage County Murders in 1920s Oklahoma and the birth of the FBI. Instead, Scorsese and his co-writer Eric Roth inverts Grann’s book’s scope to focus on an American-Indigenous couple at the center of the murder conspiracy. Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone play Ernest and Mollie Burkhart in the film, who fall in love and get married as members of the Osage tribe begin to die mysteriously. The main tension of Scorsese’s feature: will the Burkhart’s marriage endure the crimes going on around them?
A new clip from the film shows Ernest and Mollie early in their courtship, with Ernest trying to impress Mollie, who’s harder to please than he realizes. Watch the brief scene below.
Along with DiCaprio and Gladstone, “Killers Of The Flower Moon” also stars Robert DeNiro, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, and Cara Jade Myers. JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, Jason Isbell, and William Belleau also star.
