New Photos Of Anthony Hopkins & Helen Mirren In 'Hitchcock'

nullTwo films enter, one film leaves! Dueling "Snow White" pictures made way for dueling Alfred Hitchock pictures in 2012 (oh, how Hollywood loves to battle with itself). And the verdict may already be in. The version focusing on the master of suspense's releationship with Tippi Hedren staring Toby Jones and Sienna Miller, "The Girl" screened this weekend at the Hamptons International Film Festival and our reviewer wasn't overly impressed (however some other reviews have been a bit more generous). That leaves "Hitchcock," which centers on the making of the groundbreaking psychological horror film, "Psycho." The synopsis so far is rather vague, but provides enough to keep us interested:

"Hitchcock" is a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock’s seminal movie Psycho.

More exciting is the cast. Anthony Hopkins plays the iconic filmmaker, Helen Mirren plays his wife Alma, Scarlett Johansson plays actress Janet LeighJames D'Arcy is in the role of Anthony PerkinsJessica Biel plays Vera Miles,  Michael Stuhlbarg plays legendary producer Lew Wasserman and the cast also includes Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Michael Wincott, Richard Portnow and Kurtwood Smith. While People magazine recently debuted some photos of the film cropped in their magazine, Fox Searchlight has finally revealed hi-rez versions of most of those same photos, plus a new look at Hopkins and Mirren above.  Directed by Sacha Gervasi (the excellent rock-doc "Anvil: The Story of Anvil") "Hitchcock" opens in platform release on November 23rd.
