If you barely remember “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief,” we don’t blame you. It came out over three years ago and raked in only $88 million in the domestic box office, making a large majority of its money in the foreign market. So now we have the sequel, “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters,” which comes out this summer and the first images from the movie have just landed online. Hopefully, viewing these photos will help refresh your memory regarding the franchise.
The movie stars Logan Lerman (“Perks of Being a Wallflower”) as well as Stanley Tucci, Nathan Fillion, Missi Pyle, Mary Birdsong, and Brandon T. Jackson (“Tropic Thunder, the new “Beverly Hills Cop“). In ‘Sea of Monsters,’ Percy Jackson and his friends’ adventures continue as they look for the golden fleece in order to save Camp Half-Blood’s magical borders from sinister foes. Sounds exciting.
For those who were not a fan of Chris Columbus’s work on ‘The Lightning Thief,’ you are in luck. They replaced him with auteur Thor Freudenthal (“Hotel for Dogs,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid“)! Can you say masterpiece? Ok, no need to pour it on. ‘Sea of Monsters’ comes out in 3D on August 16th. [Collider]
