Netflix and The Russo Brothers’ AGBO’s working relationship continues to grow. Their Chris Hemsworth action pic “Extraction 2” is about to begin production following the film’s TUDUM streaming event announcement. The companies are in post-production on the streamer’s most expensive film to date, “The Gray Man,” an epic-sized spy movie.
The partnership will continue, as they’ll produce an untitled heist film starring rising British actor Regé-Jean Page, who famously exited the Netflix series “Bridgerton” to pursue a film career. According to Deadline, the new project comes from Noah Hawley (“Lucy In The Sky,” “Legion,” “Fargo”), based on his original idea as he’ll write, direct, and produce via 26 Keys.
Sadly, plot details are being kept in the Netflix vault for the time being. However, AGBO is known for pushing towards well-made, adult-focused action films, movies like Chadwick Boseman’s “21 Bridges and “Extraction” giving audiences some adrenaline-fueled scenes.
Hawley was confirmed last December to be behind a new “Alien” series at FX on Hulu with Ridley Scott (“Alien,” “Prometheus,” “Alien: Covenant”) producing the Earthbound sci-fi show. It’s unclear how this new movie will impact that show, as it was expected that Hawley would direct episodes of the “Alien” project.
