'Old' Exclusive Featurette: M. Night Shyamalan Explains How A Hurricane & The Pandemic Caused Problems For His Thriller

When you look at M. Night Shyamalan’s latest feature, “Old,” you just imagine how the filmmaker must have just found this beautiful beach somewhere and put the actors on the sand and yelled, “Action!” Well, even a movie with largely one major set piece, as beautiful as it might be naturally, needs some major set design, and the beach used in “Old” is no exception.

With “Old” arriving on DVD and Blu-ray today, we’re happy to give our readers an exclusive look at a behind-the-scenes video that shows just how painstaking the process was to create the lush, beautiful scenic locale that was featured prominently in Shyamalan’s new thriller. In the video, both M. Night Shyamalan and his daughter, Ishana Night Shymalan (who acted as a second-unit director on the project), discuss the trials and tribulations of creating the massive rock wall that serves as a barrier preventing the folks on the beach from escaping.

For those unaware, “Old” tells the story of a group of people trapped on a beach after being whisked away on a dream vacation. Unfortunately, not only are they seemingly stuck on this private beach, but they’re rapidly aging and running out of time fast.

“Old” is available now on Digital/VOD, and as of today, DVD and Blu-ray, just in time to watch the thriller to celebrate a beachy Halloween. You can watch the exclusive behind-the-scenes clip below or on YouTube
