Oscar Isaac Rumored For Role In ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’; Harrison Ford May Have "Gigantic" Role

Inside Llewyn Davis

Star Wars” fans. They’re so demanding. May 4th, Star Wars Day is alleged d-day for casting, the day most of the cast will be revealed, but that doesn’t stop audiences—hell, even bloggers—from demanding “reveal the damn cast already.” Well, we might be getting closer. Because no one really knows nothing, the latest rumors have been running wild and free for a while. But because names are coming up over and over again, perhaps these rumors are starting to solidify.

The latest? “Inside Llewyn Davis” star Oscar Isaac is apparently up for a role, but it’s unclear what that would be. Names that have popped up in the past and are returning include “Attack The Block” star John Boyega (already rumored for a major part), “Girls” star Adam Driver (essentially confirmed as a villain already), Oxford-trained actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers who has also been whispered to be part of the cast for months.

Apparently a big table read with director J.J. Abrams and the entire cast is happening this week in London where the movie will shoot. “Star Wars” alum Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are returning and Deadline says that Han Solo, Ford, “has a gigantic role in the first of the next three films.” Maybe they’re not passing the torch after all? Who knows. Hopefully we’ll know more this weekend, but expect tons of rumors to fly around all week. THR writer Borys Kit has some context to the rumors below, which at least appear to be correct. Whether they’ll pan out is anybody’s guess… but with announcements so close, perhaps where there is smoke there’s fire.

Speaking of smoke being added to the fire, Zac Efron — previously said to have taken a meeting for the sequel — added to speculation during an interview Down Under with 5NewsYT in which he said there were “irons in the fire” for a role. Is he in the mix too? See what he has to say below (via ComicBookMovie).
