While Paramount doesn’t have any Marvel or DC properties under their roof, and they completely bungled the "Terminator" franchise, all is not lost. Tom Cruise anchors two of their franchises in "Mission: Impossible" and "Jack Reacher," but the most valuable brand in the building is Hasbro. The "Transformers" franchise has raked in billions, and as we already know, Akiva Goldsman has put together a writer’s room to spin out as much as they can, with more sequels and animated movies in the works. And now Paramount wants him to work his magic on a couple more toys.

Deadline reports that Goldsman has been tasked with getting writing teams together for "G.I. Joe." and "Micronauts." As he did with "Transformers," he’ll choose and supervise the team of scribes to come together to spin new stories of real American heroes, while also reviving a toy line that died in 1980, on the big screen. Attempts to revive "Micronauts" in the early aughts largely failed, and of all these ideas, that one might prove the most daunting to crack.
Surely, this is only the beginning, as Hasbro has plenty more in their arsenal, including "My Little Pony," which is being developed with Lionsgate and will hit the big screen on November 3, 2017.
