When the third installment of The Twilight ‘saga’, “Eclipse” was busy raking in the big bucks during its midnight screenings, the trailer for “Paranormal Activity 2” was also on show before the movie started. Most visitors to this site will have seen this trailer by now, it’s no big deal right, pretty bland…and not scary in the slightest, right?
Well, apparently it proved that jump scares still frighten people shitless as Deadline reports that Cinemark theater execs in Texas had a number of people (ie. Twilight fans who were allowed up past their bedtime) who couldn’t handle a minute or so of crappy video cam and generic ominous music and they ended up pulling the spot.
A Paramount representative responded to the story saying, “I actually went to a couple theaters last night, and a ton of girls jumped out of their seats and screamed. All I can tell you is people complained and Cinemark pulled it down.” Huh. So we guess a few people out there found this trailer scary and Paramount have some nice, free marketing for their film set to hit on October 16th. BOO!
