Today is Valentine’s Day but for those of you in the U.K., the latest from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the Greg Mottola directed “Paul” hits your local multiplex so whether or not you have a date we definitely think it’s worth throwing down your hard earned pounds and shillings to check it out. And true to Motolla’s past films, it features a strong soundtrack mixing up r&b, soul, reggae and more
The twenty-two track strong disc mixes up tunes with tracks of David Arnold‘s score. So what will you hear? Bill Withers and Grover Washington Jr. delivering the goods with “Just The Two Of Us”; Marvin Gaye doing his thing on “Got To Give It Up”; Max Romeo drops the classic “I Chase The Devil” while Syd Masters And The Swing Riders take on “Cantina Band” which we assume is the famed theme from a certain “Star Wars” scene. ELO, Todd Rundgren, The B-52s, The Only Ones and Billy Lee Riley round things out.
The “Paul” soundtrack hits UK shelves on February 21st; no word yet of a stateside release. Check out the full tracklist below. [Amazon]
