No, “Peaky Blinders” has never been the most popular show on Netflix. But if you talk to someone who has seen it, you’d swear they had a religious moment watching the series. Since the end of its final season in 2022, fans of the show have been eagerly awaiting news on anything with the series, whether its a spinoff or the supposed movie that’s in development. Well, those prayers have been answered.

According to Bloomberg, Netflix has been really excited about expanding its hit films and TV shows into full-on franchises, and that includes “Peaky Blinders.” What that means is Netflix is reportedly developing not one, but two “Peaky Blinders” spinoffs. One of the spinoffs will reportedly take place about 20 years after the end of the main series, while the other show is expected to follow Polly, the matriarch of the Shelby clan. For those unaware, the series follows the story of a gang that rose to prominence after the first World War.
Unfortunately, neither of these shows is the follow-up film that has long been discussed. We’ve heard creator Steven Knight tease it before, and star Cillian Murphy explain that he would be down to do it, if it ever happens. So, if you’re mainly waiting on news about the film, you’re not in luck.
Again, it’s not surprising that Netflix would move ahead with multiple ‘Peaky’ spinoffs. The show was definitely a hit, and it’s always at the top of my personal list of series that are constantly recommended to me and that I haven’t seen yet. Seriously, if I had a dollar for everyone who has come up to me to talk about “Peaky Blinders,” I could fund the spinoff film myself.
No release date has been made for any of these projects, as they seem to be still in the early stages of development.
