Today, kind of randomly with only the barest of context, The Times Of India—for reasons of international marketing, we can only surmise—dropped three new photos from “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” One is hilarious, one is of a villain and one has Emma Stone in it. Can you guess which one is the funny one?
Yep, it’s Spider-Man taking care of business with a firehose, or as the newspaper caption reads in minimalist genius: “Spider-Man dons a new hat.” Jamie Foxx continues to look unconvincing as Electro, but that’s mostly because stills for his character probably don’t reflect how those VFX will work when he’s sending volts through people or whatever it is he does. And last is Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker sharing emotions, with Times duly noting: “Sony has revealed this would be the first Spider-Man film to be filmed entirely in New York. ” Informative.
