‘Plan B’ Trailer: Natalie Morales’ New Comedy Finds 2 Teen Girls On A Search For A Much-Needed Pill

The road trip film is a staple of the comedy genre. We’ve seen it done a million times before, where you take two friends, throw them in a car, have them go on a long trip to achieve some sort of time-sensitive goal, and obviously, hilarity ensues. Well, that basic premise gives you an idea of what to expect with the upcoming comedy film, “Plan B.”

However, when you watch the trailer for “Plan B,” it becomes pretty clear that the teen comedy is far from your typical entry in the road trip subgenre. First of all, it’s sad to say this in 2021, but it’s still rare to see a comedy film led by women in the cast (and behind the camera). In addition, it’s even rarer those women are both POCs. So, that alone makes this a refreshing entry in the comedy realm. Add to that the fact that the story is about two teens trying to buy Plan B before the 24-hour cutoff, and you have a diverse, inclusive, sex-positive teen comedy with plenty of F-bombs to satisfy film fans. Again, it’s sad to say that this is somehow unique, but it definitely is. And to top it off, it looks pretty damn hilarious.

The film stars Kuhoo Verma, Victoria Moroles, Mason Cook, and Michael Provost. “Plan B” is directed by Natalie Morales, based on a script from writers Joshua Levy and Prathiksha Srinivasan. Morales is probably best known for her acting work, but she’s really jumped into the world of directing over the past few years. Just this year alone, joining “Plan B,” is a comedy film that she directed that was filmed during lockdown, titled “Language Lessons,” which premiered at SXSW. In addition, she’s also helmed episodes of “Room 104.”

“Plan B” arrives on Hulu on May 28. You can watch the trailer for the film below.

Here’s the synopsis:

After a regrettable first sexual encounter, a straight-laced high school student (Kuhoo Verma) and her slacker best friend (Victoria Moroles) have 24 hours to hunt down a Plan B pill in America’s heartland.
