Never heard of “Love And Other Impossible Pursuits“? Don’t worry, this one has been flying below the radar for a while.
The film by Don Roos (“The Opposite Of Sex,” “Happy Endings“) premiered last year at TIFF and and by time things were said and done with the fest, North American distribution still hadn’t been locked. Starring Natalie Portman, Lisa Kudrow and Lauren Ambrose, the film tells the story of Emilia (Portman) who steals a man from his wife and then must bond with her new stepson. It’s tricky fare, and unfortunately with the film earning largely negative reviews, it’s still yet to land a deal and hit theaters. At least on this side of the ocean. The film opened in Russia last week and a Natalie Portman fansite (via ONTD) has dug up the foreign poster and a plethora of stills from the film which you can see after the jump.
With Portman now gaining major heat thanks to her astounding turn in Darren Aronofsky‘s “Black Swan” we’re sure that “Love And Other Impossible Pursuits” will eventually find a home for North American audiences, but don’t be surprised if it quietly slips straight to DVD.
