Liked “Quantum of Solace”? Thought it was good and keeping in the spirit of the new Bourne-like James Bond reboot and “Casino Royale”? Well, don’t expect director Marc Forster to be onhand for the next installment of oo7’s next adventure, aka ‘Bond 23.’
At a recent ‘Solace’ junket in L.A. that FirstShowing attended, Foster was asked if he’d like to helm the next edition, but he declined and said he needs to take some time off and reclaim his life.
“They offered me the next one, but at this point the pressure is so intense — it’s a year of not having a life. And I don’t know if I want to do that again. It’s literally not having a life, and I mean that, it’s not exaggerated. I feel like life is short, you have to find a balance.”
Well, it worked going from Martin Campbell (‘Royale’) to Forster evidently, so looks like the Bond producers will have to look elsewhere. It’s never stopped them before though. Maybe they can tap some new talent or hell, just ruin the series again and get Brett Ratner, we here he’s free.
