Next month fans will see the grand return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock in “Daredevil: Born Again,” the latest Marvel Television series brings back The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen and places the superhero squarely in the mainline MCU (no more confusion for fans). Some folks have already watched the first two episodes of the street-level streaming series and the early buzz is strong with this outing.
Below are some of those posted reactions shared on social media including folks from Fandango, Cinema Blend, Screen Rant, and other outlets:
By the sounds of things, fans of the original run of episodes will be happy with what Marvel has done here with the revival.
We know that a second season of the show is already underway, which would suggest that Marvel is putting in quite an investment there and could signal their confidence that fans will support the show beyond that. There have been some musings from Marvel about how they could add other Netflix/”Defenders” era characters into the fold (Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist) after there had been online rumblings of their inclusion and the return of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher leading to a new Marvel Special Presentation.
The rest of the cast consists of Vincent D’Onofrio as The Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Ayelet Zurer, Wilson Bethel, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, and Jeremy Earl.
An official logline for the show from Marvel reads:
“Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”
Audiences will get their own chance to watch the two-episode premiere of “Daredevil: Born Again” on March 4.
