Got a Tip?

Richard Linklater’s ‘Boyhood,’ Christophe Gans’ ‘Beauty & The Beast’ & More Added To Berlin Line-Up

Beauty & The Beast

With the Sundance Film Festival kicking off tomorrow, it will be the first stop for many films on the 2014 festival circuit as they pick up steam before eventual awards season runs, theatrical releases or both. And as Park City gets ready to kick things off stateside, over at the Berlin Film Festival, they are gearing up to roll out the red carpet for international audiences next month.

With a lineup that already includes Wes Anderson‘s “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” George Clooney‘s “Monuments Men” and Lars von Trier‘s director’s cut of “Nymphomaniac Part 1,” organizers have unveiled a slate of new competition films today, with Richard Linklater‘s “Boyhood” the big highlight, followed by Christoph Gans‘ “Beauty And The Beast” (though it will be screening out of competition). Linklater’s film, a 12 years-in-the-making coming of age drama, already jumped to being one of the must see movies in Park City after its surprise addition yesterday, and we’re sure it will be a hot ticket in Berlin too.

Check out the batch of new movies headed to the fest below. The Berlin Film Festival runs from February 6-16 with a jury presided by former Focus Features honcho James Schamus and rounded out by Michel Gondry, Greta Gerwig, Christoph Waltz, Tony Leung and more.
