While "Captain America: Civil War" will feature pretty much every major Marvel character, one notable absence will be Mark Ruffalo‘s beloved Hulk. The actor explained last month that Marvel had something else planned for the character. “Because Hulk’s still missing and it’s not known where. I thought that I would be in ‘Civil War,’ but in the end [Marvel] believes that the reveal of what happened to Hulk is something too big, and they want to use this information later," he said. "My character had been inserted into the script, but was later taken out. Who knows? Maybe Hulk will never return. However, they want to keep the revelation of what happened a secret, because it is something really big.”
What that "something big" might be remains under wraps, but considering Hulk blasts off in a Quinjet at the end of "Avengers: Age Of Ultron," perhaps the following rumored move makes a lot of sense.

JoBlo is reporting that Hulk will appear in "Thor: Ragnarok," helping out the titular hero in what is described as a "Norse apocalypse." Where exactly will the movie be set? It’s not known, though the site says the story will involve a "distant planet," not Asgard. Could this movie be planting the seeds for Planet Hulk? We’ll let the fans debate. Meanwhile, the site says franchise regulars Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Jaimie Alexander (Sif) will also be back in the Taika Waititi directed movie.
"Thor: Ragnarok" opens on November 3, 2017 and there will surely be more news to come as the film gears up to shoot next year. And while we’re talking Marvel, Bryan Cranston has said he’d like to play comic villain Mr. Sinister. “It intrigues me to be able to play a character that hasn’t been on film before, so you can create it from the beginning," he stated. Somebody make that happen.
Update 10/16: Deadline reports that a deal is being inked for Mark Ruffalo to return as Hulk in "Thor: Ragnarok."
