We’re not saying that “Breaking Bad” glamorized making meth in an RV, but it sure looked a hell of a lot fancier than what is presented in “Rust Creek.” The thriller, which puts a new spin on the classic “girl is lost in the woods” subgenre, shows a seedier, and dangerous, side to the meth game, and much like Sawyer, in the below clip, we would be grabbing the sharpest thing we could find to get out of there too.
In an exclusive clip for the film “Rust Creek,” we see what happens when Sawyer, a young college student, gets stuck in the backwoods of Kentucky during winter. As she attempts to flee from some locals that have some terrible ideas in mind, Sawyer finds protection (maybe?) with a local meth chemist named Lowell. But as is shown, the trailer that the young student finds herself in is filled with canisters of deadly, and explosive, chemicals and one guy that may or may not be the most stable guy in the woods.
The clip gives viewers a sneak peek at what they can find in the thriller that is one of the more well-crafted and quality entries in the genre in a while. Directed by Jen McGowan, “Rust Creek” never lets up on the tension and suspense as the audience is put in the shoes of Sawyer, as she attempts to survive a dire trip in the woods.
“Rust Creek” stars Hermione Corfield, Jay Paulson, Micah Hauptman, Sean O’Bryan, Daniel R. Hill, John Marshall Jones, and Jeremy Glazer.
“Rust Creek” is in select theaters and On Demand now. Check it out.
