“Saw VII” co-writer Patrick Melton has revealed that the forthcoming entry in horror franchise may be the last. “I think it’s going to end with ‘Saw VII’. I have a very strong feeling its going to end with Saw VII. That’s something we’re debating now,” he told a UK radio show. But he reminds us that “I don’t own the franchise, nor do I run the studio, but I have a feeling, a strong feeling that [the last one is] going to be ‘Saw VII’.” So take that for what’s it worth, but man that thing is a bit of a cash-cow for Lionsgate and they surely don’t want it to end (nor have their ever had to worry about its quality or cred).
New Line’s star-studded U.S. remake of “Love Actually” rom-com “Valentine’s Day” already has a quasi-sequel, “New Year’s Eve,” in the works. Katherine Fugate who wrote “Valentine’s Day” has already turned in a draft which is just await approval from studio brass (who are probably also waiting to see how the film opens this weekend despite dismal early reviews).
The “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” offshoot “Get Him To The Greek” has moved its release date a week forward to June 4th, where it will now go up against the family film “Marmaduke” and the Katherine Heigl/Ashton Kutcher assassin comedy “Killers.”
Speaking of release date changes, though a much smaller one, the oddball spaghetti western kung-fu film and 2008 TIFF picture, “The Good, the Bad, the Weird,“ has moved its release date slightly from April 9, to April 23. IFC Films is releasing.
Lastly, clips from all the songs on the forthcoming “Almost Alice” companion soundtrack to “Alice In Wonderland” are now streaming. The crappy Amazon player makes an annoying game out of it forcing curious listeners to try and guess which awful track belongs to which terrible band. Here’s the full tracklisting to help you cheat.
