According to Deadline, Colman Domingo is set to make his feature film directorial debut with “Scandalous,” a film about the love affair between Sammy Davis, Jr. and Kim Novak. The film will star David Jonsson and Sydney Sweeney in the lead roles.

The film tells the story of Kim Novak and Sammy Davis, Jr., who met while both guests on “The Steve Allen Show.” They immediately fell in love and began a behind-the-scenes love affair. However, as you might expect given the time period of the film, the racist public didn’t agree with the union. Eventually, they became part of tabloid fodder and the relationship ended.

Sweeney is probably best known for her work on “Euphoria.” Lately, she’s been a major film star with roles in “Anyone But You,” “Immaculate,” and “Madame Web.” Jonsson is still pretty new to most audiences, but he had a breakout role in the hit film, “Alien: Romulus.” Domingo is also known for his work on “Euphoria,” but he’s recently been earning rave reviews for films such as “Rustin” and “Sing Sing.”

According to the report, the plan is to shoot “Scandalous” after both Domingo and Sweeney finish work on “Euphoria” Season 3, which is expected to begin production in early 2025. Unfortunately, that means we probably won’t see “Scandalous” begin production until later in the year, and it won’t be released until 2026 at the earliest.
