Got a Tip?

Seth Rogen & Jay Baruchel’s ‘The Apocalypse’ Will Land On June 14, 2013

nullThe end is coming…and it's going to be hilarious. It seems that the end of the world just isn't the domain for ponderous filmmakers with comedies now taking a crack at the demise of humanity. This summer, Steve Carell and Keira Knightley will face the unknown in "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World," an ensemble crew including Anna Kendrick, Ken Jeong, Rob Corddry, Thomas Lennon, Paul Scheer and Craig Robinson are facing "Rapturepalooza," and now, one more film has a firm date as Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel's "The Apocalypse" has been stamped with a June 14, 2013 release date.

This bit of news popped up on Box Office Mojo last night simply as Seth Rogen/Jonah Hill Untitled Comedy but we confirmed with Sony that the film is indeed "The Apocalypse." Based on Rogen and Baruchel's 2007 short  “Jay and Seth Vs The Apocolapyse,” they are lining up a number of their pals — Hill and James Franco (playing themselves), Danny McBride, Craig Robinson and probably a ton of cameos — to tell the story that will apparently take place in Franco's apartment as the world ends.

Rogen and longtime writing and producing partner Evan Goldberg will make their directorial debut on the picture. Filming gets underway later this spring.
