‘Silo’: Rebecca Ferguson Suggests Her Post-Apocalypse Apple+ Series Will End After Seasons 3 & 4

Swedish-born, British-raised actress Rebecca Ferguson has been juggling her time between high-profile streaming and cinematic roles; her recent turn in “Dune: Part Two” helped the film earn an impressive $684.9 million at the global box office. She’s now back focusing her attention back to her acclaimed post-apocalyptic Apple TV+ series, “Silo,” and the actress told Collider that the producers already have an ending in mind that could see the streaming project end around seasons 3-4, potentially shooting those two final seasons back-to-back.

“I believe that the show has an ending, and I know when that is,” Ferguson told Collider about the future plans for “Silo.” “We’re now looking at green-lighting seasons three and four. I think we would film them maybe together, and that would be the end.”

Whether those final two seasons are shot together remains to be seen, but given the busy schedule of the cast members of “Silo,” filming two seasons in a large block would be a smart way to finish up the sci-fi series promptly and clear up Ferguson’s always-loaded appointment book.

Here is the official logline of “Silo” via Apple if you’re not familiar with the show:

In a ruined and toxic future, thousands live in a giant silo deep underground. After its sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents die mysteriously, engineer Juliette (Ferguson) starts to uncover shocking secrets and the truth about the silo.

“Silo” was created by Graham Yost, known for his work on “Speed,” “Broken Arrow, and “Hard Rain” and the TV series “Justified.” The series also features Rashida Jones, David Oyelowo, Common, Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, Avi Nash, Rick Gomez, and Chinaza Uche. Season two has been shot, is in the can, but no release date has been given yet, though it might just be 2025 at this rate,

While her time with the “Mission: Impossible” movies is over following the surprising death of her British spy character Ilsa Faust in ‘Dead Reckoning,’ Ferguson will likely reprise her Bene Gesserit role in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune Messiah,” the third installment officially in development at Legendary Ferguson also is set to co-stars with Chris Pratt in the sci-fi thriller “Mercy at Amazon MGM Studios.

Apple has yet to announce when “Silo” season two will release, but stay tuned for updates on that front.
