The Oscars are just over a week away, and it’s going to be an evening of glitz, glamour, and wondering why the show is more than three hours long. But there will be at least one moment worth savoring during the show.
Academy Awards producers have revealed that the original singers of the year’s five Oscar-nominated songs will be performing at the show. So yes, that means you’ll want to have the Kleenex handy when Sufjan Stevens performs his exquisite “The Mystery Of Love” from “Call Me By Your Name.” Also hitting the stage during the ceremony will be: Best Supporting Actress nominee Mary J. Blige singing “Mighty River” from “Mudbound;” Common and Andra Day performing “Stand Up for Something” from “Marshall“; Gael Garcia Bernal, Miguel and Natalia Lafourcade singing “Remember Me” from “Coco“; and lastly, Keala Settle belting out “This Is Me” from “The Greatest Showman.”
A little something for everybody, but I’m totally there for Sufjan bringing the feels.
Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the Oscars will be handed out on March 4th. [Associated Press]
