Academy Award nominee Margo Robbie follows up the success of last year’s self-produced “I, Tonya” with new thriller “Terminal,” the second feature film from Robbie’s own LuckyChap Entertainment production company. The actress stars as Annie, a mysterious femme fatale who’s somehow connected to the high-risk mission of two hit men working under the payroll of a vengeful, enigmatic employer. In the first trailer for “Terminal,” it’s clear that they are going for a very distinct style for this film.
The project is one of the multiple films that Robbie is set to produce this year, the others being period drama “Mary Queen of Scots” – which will be hitting screens this fall with Robbie in the role of Queen Elizabeth I – and bank robber thriller “Dreamland.” Keeping the momentum after Robbie’s Oscar nod, it has also been confirmed that she will be portraying actress Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino’s next film, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” In the meantime, here’s the official synopsis for “Terminal,” which promises to send its characters “tumbling down the rabbit hole.”
In the dark heart of a sprawling, anonymous city, Terminal follows the twisting tales of two assassins carrying out a sinister mission, a teacher battling a fatal illness, an enigmatic janitor and a curious waitress leading a dangerous double life. Murderous consequences unravel in the dead of night as their lives all intertwine at the hands of a mysterious criminal mastermind hell-bent on revenge.
Rounding out the cast Simon Pegg (“Star Trek”), Dexter Fletcher (“Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels”), Max Irons (“The Host”) and, most unusually, Mike Myers (“Austin Powers”) in his first live-action feature film role since his cameo in 2009’s “Inglourious Basterds.” Working from his own screenplay, the film will be the directorial feature debut of Vaughn Stein, whose second and third unit director credits include “Beauty and the Beast,” “Sherlock Holmes,” and “World War Z.”
“Terminal” arrives in cinemas on May 11th.
