‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Featurette: James Cameron, Linda Hamilton & Arnold Schwarzenegger Attempt To Make A New Judgement Day [Comic-Con]

It has been four years since the last “Terminator” film, and creator James Cameron is back on board to produce “Terminator: Dark Fate.” The iconic phrase from the sci-fi series “I’ll be back” reigns true as the sixth installment finds Cameron returning to the series, after 28 years away. Albeit, now he is just in the producer’s chair overseeing the whole production, but it’s more hand’s on than he’s been in years.

There are also returns for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton who play T-800 and Sarah Connor respectively.  While Schwarzenegger played the legendary cyborg in the last film, “Terminator Genisys” back in 2015, it will be the first time in decades for Hamilton to play the role of John Connor’s mother, Sarah Connor.

When speaking to Entertainment Weekly about her return, Hamilton thought it felt right for her to come back after so long away from the series. “There is a real gift in that so much time has passed, and that gives me so much more to explore with the character. Sarah Connor is the same person, but I wanted to see how the difference in events have changed her and shaped her and send her forward.”

In a film filled with returns, the series will be getting some new faces in the form of Natalia Reyes (“Running with the Devil”), Mackenzie Davis (“Halt & Catch Fire,” “Blade Runner 2049”) and Gabriel Luna (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”). There is also a directing role for Tim Miller, who is riding off the success of “Deadpool.” When asked why ‘Terminator’ during the same interview with Hamilton, Miller said a few months back, “I think you’d get the same answer from pretty much any nerd you’d ask, which is these movies, because they were the seminal sci-fi movies of the decade when they came out,” He continued, ““Star Wars” and ‘Terminator’ were the two biggest franchises that made me want to get into this. The idea that I could continue this story is unbelievable to me.”

The film will hit theaters November 1st, watch the new Comic-Con featurette with new footage and behind-the-scenes clips, below.
