Paramount+ might be surviving thanks to Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” franchise, but that doesn’t mean the streaming service isn’t trying to expand its library. Much like its streaming brethren, Paramount+ isn’t afraid of corralling some big names for a prestige drama series, such as “The Agency.”

With “The Agency” coming later this fall, we got our first look at the new series courtesy of EW. The series tells the story of a deep cover special agent, who has to leave his current post and come back to the station, leaving behind the life he’s led for more than six years. The series stars Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, Jeffrey Wright, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Michael Fassbender is no stranger to TV. In fact, he really got his start working on the acclaimed series, “Band of Brothers.” But “The Agency” marks a first for Fassbender.
“I’ve never done a TV series as the lead, so I’ve got a lot of respect for it,” Fassbender said. “It’s a jam-packed schedule, you’ve got to move fast, you’ve got to get things done, but I’m really, really enjoying it.”
Originally, the series was expected to be directed by none other than George Clooney, who also produces. However, that has changed, with Joe Wright stepping up to direct some of the series. The series is based on the French series “Le Bureau des Légendes.”
“The Agency” doesn’t have an exact release date yet. The show will debut on Paramount+ sometime in late fall. You can see the first-look images below:
