For many filmmakers, a debut feature is typically an indie production with local actors and a shoestring budget. But sometimes, a filmmaker is able to snag some big names for a debut. That’s the case for Rachel Rose, who has landed some really big stars for her debut feature, “The Last Day.”

According to Variety, Alicia Vikander, Victoria Pedretti, and Wagner Moura all star in Rachel Rose’s debut film, “The Last Day.” The film wrapped production last month and tells the story of a writer who deals with her creative block but rediscovering herself and confronting issues from her past.
Vikander is probably best known for films such as “Ex Machina” and “The Danish Girl.” More recently, she’s appeared in films like “Blue Bayou,” “The Green Knight,” and “Firebrand.” Her most recent film is “Rumours,” which also stars Cate Blanchett.
Pedretti debuted in the acclaimed horror series, “The Haunting of Hill House.” She then starred in her breakout series, “You.” More recently, she’s shown up in films such as “Origin” and “Ponyboi.”

Moura broke out in a big way thanks to his role on “Narcos.” He has also appeared in TV shows such as “The Shining Girls” and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” On the film side of things, Moura has appeared in “Civil War,” “The Gray Man,” and “Wasp Network.”
A release date for “The Last Day” has yet to be announced. With filming ending last month, a 2025 release seems likely.
