In the early days of streaming TV dramas, one of the most underrated series was “Bloodline” on Netflix. Luckily, if you missed it, you can watch it now at your leisure. But if you’re a fan of that series and want to see director Todd A. Kessler team up with actor Ben Mendelsohn again, you’re in luck, as they have a new series, “The New Look.”
According to THR, Todd A. Kessler is set to write, direct, and produce a new series for Apple TV+ titled “The New Look.” The series stars the aforementioned Ben Mendelsohn opposite Juliette Binoche as Christian Dior and Coco Chanel, respectively. “The New Look” focuses on the decade after World War II where Dior took the fashion world by storm, rubbing elbows with fashion contemporaries such as Chanel, Balmain, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent, and more.
As mentioned, Kessler is probably best known for his work on “Bloodline,” as well as his TV series, “Damages.” Mendelsohn is one of the most acclaimed actors working today, known for his roles in films such as “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “The King,” “Darkest Hour,” and many other projects. He’ll next be seen in the Marvel Studios TV series, “Secret Invasion,” where he’ll reprise his role from “Captain Marvel.” Binoche is one of the most famous actresses in the world, appearing in recent films such as “High Life,” “The Truth,” and “Non-Fiction.”
Apple TV+ has already ordered one season of the new series, though it’s not exactly a recurring show. If “The New Look” succeeds, the report claims the show could become an anthology, focusing on a new fashion-centric story with each subsequent season.
A premiere date has yet to be announced.
