Here is the official synopsis for “The Order,” courtesy of Vertical Entertainment:

A series of bank robberies and car heists frightened communities in the Pacific Northwest. A lone FBI agent believes that the crimes were not the work of financially motivated criminals but rather a group of dangerous domestic terrorists.

Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult star in “The Order,” with the latter playing neo-Nazi activist and leader Robert Mathews. Tye Sheridan, Jurnee Smollett, Odessa Young, Alison Oliver, and Marc Maron round out the main cast.

“The Order” had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, with many critics praising its gritty realism. The Playlist’s review was more mixed, despite enjoying Law and Sheridan’s chemistry and Hoult’s quiet magnetism as the film’s antagonist. But general audiences get to decide for themselves about “The Order’ when it hits theaters on December 6. Watch a trailer for Kurzel’s latest below.
