Even if you’re not well-versed in international cinema, there are names that stand out that surely will attract film fans. One of those names is Léa Seydoux, the acclaimed French actress that has been a dominant force in film over the past two decades. And as you might expect, she has another highly-anticipated feature coming in 2021, titled “The Story of My Wife.”
As seen in the trailer for “The Story of My Wife,” the film follows, well, the story of a woman that finds herself drawn to two separate men. One of them is her new husband, a naval captain that found himself swept up in a love affair with her, and the other is a mysterious French man. As you might expect, this jealousy doesn’t do much for the woman and her marriage, as trust is pushed to its limits. The film is based on the novel of the same name from acclaimed Hungarian author, Milán Füst.
The new film stars Seydoux alongside Gijs Naber, Louis Garrel, Josef Hader, Sergio Rubini, and Jasmine Trinca. “The Story of My Wife” comes from writer-director Ildikó Enyedi. The filmmaker is no stranger to film festival recognition, with a number of her features winning awards around the world, including trophies in Berlin and Cannes. Speaking of Cannes, “The Story of My Wife” is expected to have its world premiere screening at this year’s French event in July.
