While the overall quality of newer seasons of “Saturday Night Live” is debatable, most people will agree that the digital segments, primarily those from the comedy troupe, Please Don’t Destroy, are still pretty great. So, it’s exciting to see the Please Don’t Destroy guys get a chance to actually spin off into their own feature film, which they get to do this fall in the film, “Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain.”
With the release of “Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain” scheduled for November, Peacock has gone ahead and released first-look images from the upcoming film. For those unaware, the film stars the three members of Please Don’t Destroy, Martin Herlihy, John Higgins, and Ben Marshall, as co-workers and lifelong friends who go on a mission to the forest to find a priceless artifact. Along the way, they have to deal with park rangers and a cult, which leads to more hijinks.
Please Don’t Destroy made a name for themselves through their viral digital shorts on ‘SNL.’ Perhaps most notably, the trio’s “Three Sad Virgins” short is the one that really put them on the map, as they starred alongside Pete Davidson and Taylor Swift. And if you enjoy that clip, you’ll be happy to know that ‘Treasure of Foggy Mountain’ is directed by Paul Briganti, the person who also helmed the aforementioned “Three Sad Virgins.”
“Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain” is set to arrive on Peacock on November 17. You can look at the new images below.
Here’s the synopsis:
In PLEASE DON’T DESTROY: THE TREASURE OF FOGGY MOUNTAIN, John Goodman narrates the adventure of Ben, Martin, and John, three childhood friends turned deadbeat co-workers, who fend off hairless bears, desperate park rangers (Meg Stalter and X Mayo) and a hypocritical cult leader (Bowen Yang) in the hopes of finding a priceless treasure, only to discover that finding the treasure is the easiest part of their journey. Oh, and Conan O’Brien plays Ben’s dad in it.
