Look, this isn’t a trailer for those who haven’t watched the series. If you watch the series, you know what’s happening. But the significance of these final episodes of Season 3 is immense. Before Season 3 was released, it was announced that the star of the series, Cavill, would be leaving the show before Season 4, to be replaced by Liam Hemsworth. This announcement was met with overwhelming shock and anger from the fanbase, who have grown to love Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt. Then it was reported that some of the reasons for the departure weren’t due to scheduling issues, but more creative things, as Cavill was rumored to be unhappy with the direction of the series. This stung even more for fans of the show, as they believe Cavill knows what’s best for the show, and they, by and large, took his side in the debate. All that to say, these are Cavill’s final episodes of the series, and it’ll be interesting to see how much of this audience carries over when Hemsworth takes the role next season.

Joining Cavill in the ensemble cast are Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Myanna Buring, Eamon Farren, Mimî M Khayisa, Royce Pierreson, Anna Shaffer, Mecia Simson, Tom Canton, Mahesh Jadu, Graham McTavish, Cassie Clare, Hugh Skinner, Wilson Mbomio, Lars Mikkelsen, Terence Maynard,  Simon Callow, Liz Carr, Therica Wilson-Read, Safiyya Ingar, Rochelle Rose, Michalina Olszanska, Robbie Amell, Jeremy Crawford, Bart Edwards, Aisha Fabienne Ross, Christelle Elwin, and Meng’er Zhang. “The Witcher” Season 3 Part 2 is, once again, showrun by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

The final half of “The Witcher” Season 3, and the swansong for Henry Cavill, debuts on Netflix on July 27. You can watch the new trailer below.
