OK, this one is certainly hard to categorize, but let’s give it a shot. Inspired by Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming album of the same name due in February, the film “This Is Me…Now” is a quasi-documentary with narrative elements— an intimate, fantastical, and narrative-driven reflection of her personal journey of self-healing and self-love (perhaps inspired by some of Beyonce’s most recent documentaries).
Directed by Dave Meyers, the film was written by Jennifer Lopez and Matt Walton with a story conceived by Lopez, Meyers, and Chris Shafer.

And so yes, there’s a story. The film has “stars” in it too, including on top of Lopez herself, actors and musicians, celebrity talent, and appearances from Fat Joe, Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Jenifer Lewis, Jay Shetty, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sadhguru, Tony Bellissimo, Derek Hough, Trevor Jackson, Paul Raci, Bella Gagliano, Brandon Delsid, Ashley Versher, Malcolm Kelner, Alix Angelis, Danielle Larracuente, Matthew Law and of course, Ben Affleck.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“This Is Me…Now” is the defining era of Jennifer Lopez’s illustrious career. With an unprecedented rawness and vulnerability, Lopez has crafted a powerful and heartfelt homage to the profound beauty of true love and the indomitable strength of the human spirit. What began as a return to the recording studio after an almost decade-long absence, and inspired by love, evolved into a vision to weave her songs into an abstract biography reverse-engineered from the powerful music she had written, recorded, and produced. “This Is Me… Now” is not just another project for Jennifer Lopez. It is a reflection of the immense dedication and hard work she has poured into herself, to her unyielding faith, and a celebration of her commitment to doing what is right. This collection of work is a beacon of hope, a celebration of love, and a call to make better choices for ourselves and for the world around us. We may think we know the story of Lopez, one of the most written about women in the world, but this powerful and heartfelt work of art shares the real story, a piece of her soul, and she is doing it in her own inimitable style.
Amazon MGM Studios will release the cinematic original “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story” exclusively on Prime Video globally on February 16, 2024. Watch the official trailer below.
