Got a Tip?

Tiffany Haddish Is Coming To Save The 90th Oscars And More Presenters

The Academy announced the first slate of presenters for the 90th Academy Awards and you can all breathe easier because Tiffany Haddish will be making her way to the podium.

The New York Film Critics Circle Best Supporting Actress winner and “Girls Trip” star will join last year’s Best Supporting Actor winner Mahershala Ali (“Moonlight”), Chadwick Boseman (“Black Panther”), Oscar winner Viola Davis (“Fences”), AMPAS Board Member and nominee Laura Dern (“Star Wars: The Last Jedi”), Jennifer Garner (the upcoming “Love Simon”), Oscar nominee Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird”), Tom Holland (“Avengers: Infinity War”), Oscar nominee Kumail Nanjani (“The Big Sick”), Oscar nominee Margot Robbie (“I, Tonya”), Oscar winner Emma Stone (“La La Land”) and star of Foreign Language Film nominee “A Fantastic Woman,” Daniela Vega.

Obviously, this is only the first round of presenters but it’s clear the Academy wanted to focus on its early diverse slate which includes five People of Color, a transgender actress and seven women.  Haddish made a splash last month when she announced the nominees alongside Andy Serkis.  She mispronounced some nominee names (turns out Scott Neustadter was more than fine with it) and her joke “”I gotta see this ‘Dunkirk.’ It seems like a lot of people like it” earned a huge round of laughter from the audience on hand.

Jimmy Kimmel will return for a second go around as host.  One of the biggest remaining questions for this year show is who will present the Best Actress honor as last year’s Best Actor winner, Casey Affleck, bowed out due to the continuing controversy of a sexual harassment case he settled out of court.

The 90th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be broadcast live on the ABC Television Network at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
