In “Precious,” Gabourey Sidibe faced nearly every issue that an esteemed actress might cover in a number of different films in their entire career. Rape, incest, AIDS, teen pregnancy — you name it, “Precious” had it.
In the upcoming Showtime series “The Big C” which, you guessed it, is about cancer, Sidibe must be glad to playing a character that isn’t stricken with some kind of disease or being abused. Instead, the actress co-stars alongside Laura Linney and Oliver Platt in the dramedy that seems to be taking a look at the “brighter side” of living with cancer.
