Trailer For Charles Ferguson's Financial Crisis Doc 'Inside Job'

The first trailer has been unveiled for Charles Ferguson’s study on the machinations behind 2008’s global financial crisis in “Inside Job” which premiered earlier this year out-of-competition at the Cannes Film Festival.

Narrated by Matt Damon, the feature is described as “the first film to provide a comprehensive analysis of the global financial crisis of 2008, which at a cost over $20 trillion, caused millions of people to lose their jobs and homes in the worst recession since the Great Depression, and nearly resulted in a global financial collapse.”

Ferguson (“No End In Sight”) seems like the perfect person to tackle this controversial subject honestly and brutally; it is still shrouded in mystery despite affecting more or less everyone on the planet. The helmer reportedly undertook “exhaustive research and extensive interviews with key financial insiders, politicians, journalists, and academics [as he] traces the rise of a rogue industry which has corrupted politics, regulation, and academia.” And, judging from the trailer, it looks like he takes no prisoners in trying to uncover the truth.

“Inside Job” will open in New York on October 8th and Los Angeles on October 15th before rolling out nationwide. [Apple]
