‘Fear Street: Prom Queen’ Teaser Trailer: Next Chapter From Netflix’s Horror Film Franchise Hits May 23

The horror genre continues to make quite a bit of cash at the box office and streamers have also been putting together franchise attempts. One of the newer ones from Netflix is “Fear Street” and the streaming giant has shared a new teaser trailer and some still images from their next installment, “Fear Street: Prom Queen,” which will be exclusively on the streaming service in May.

Matt Palmer and Donald Mcleary co-wrote “Prom Queen” with Palmer tackling directing duties. Tapped for the film’s cast are India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, Chris Klein, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Ariana Greenblatt, Lily Taylor, and Katherine Waterson.

Welcome back to Shadyside. In this next installment of the blood-soaked ‘Fear Street’ franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider puts herself in the running, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.

“Prom Queen” will mark the fourth film in Netflix’s “Fear Street” franchise, which is loosely based on a string of young adult horror novels written by the prolific author R.L. Stine best known for his “Goosebumps” books in the 1990s. Unlike “Goosebumps,” a majority of “Fear Street” stories took place in a single location, Shadyside, Ohio.

Those previous three installments include “Fear Street Part One: 1994,” “Fear Street Part Two: 1978,” and “Fear Street Part Three: 1666” which were helmed by director Leigh Janiak.

Horror fans will have to wait before they can stream “Fear Street: Prom” as the movie won’t be streaming until May 23. But, until then, you can watch the new trailer and check out some of the stills as well below.
