Netflix is quickly becoming the go-to place to find great documentary films and series. With the success of last year’s doc series “Making A Murderer,” everyone is waiting for that next must-see binge watching experience. Instead of true crime, the streaming service is hoping that audiences will care about college football instead. Netflix just dropped the first trailer for their upcoming series “Last Chance U,” and it seems like people are really going to want to add this to their queue.

Following the football program at East Mississippi Community College, the series tells the story of former star athletes, down on their luck, looking for redemption in a junior college football team. Giving a behind-the-scenes look at college sports programs are nothing new, but what separates “Last Chance U” is its focus on the off-the-field lives of the players and coaches as well. These are incredibly gifted athletes who have had trouble in the past and have one more chance to realize their dreams.
Who will succeed? Who will fail? Audiences will have their answers when all six parts of “Last Chance U” are released on July 29th on Netflix.
