Got a Tip?

‘Tulip Fever’ Is A Movie That Actually Exists: Here’s The NSFW Trailer Proof

Tulip Fever” has become something of a running joke, much to the misfortune of The Weinstein Company. The distributor has kicked back and delayed the release of the period drama so often that one wonders if the film actually exists. Well, apparently it does, and will finally be opening in cinemas next week. However, TWC seems to be aware that everyone is ready to have the rug pulled out from them, so they’re convincing potential audiences to buy a ticket the only way they know how — with boobs.

A red band trailer has landed for the movie, and yes, things get naked. Alicia Vikander, Dane DeHaan, Christoph Waltz, Holliday Grainger, Jack O’Connell, Zach Galifianakis, Dame Judi Dench, Matthew Morrison, Tom Hollander, Cara Delevingne, Cressida Bonas, and David Harewood all feature in the cast, and it’s kind of a remarkable that a movie with that ensemble has been collecting dust. Anyway, the movie is about flowers and love affairs or something. Here’s the official synopsis:

In 17th Century Amsterdam, an orphaned girl (Alicia Vikander) is forcibly married to a rich and powerful merchant (Christoph Waltz) – an unhappy “arrangement” that saves her from poverty. After her husband commissions a portrait, she begins a passionate affair with the painter (Dane DeHaan), a struggling young artist. Seeking to escape the merchant’s ever-reaching grasp, the lovers risk everything and enter the frenzied tulip bulb market, with the hope that the right bulb will make a fortune and buy their freedom.

Directed by Justin Chadwick (“The Other Boleyn Girl,” “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom“), “Tulip Fever” will open on September 1st. Unless it doesn’t.
